When attempting to update a VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.7 through the VMware Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) https: // <FQDN>: 5480, the indicated error occurs:

software-packages stage –iso –acceptEulas

Checking the staged patch:
software-packages list –staged

Install the update with the command
software-packages install –staged

Reboot VCSA:
shutdown reboot -r
Check that the version of VCSA has changed:

  1. Hello Joris, before applying the updates using the CLI, it would be a good idea to check if the issue is caused by a stale file left by a previous update. If any update_microservice.pid file is present in the /var/run/vmware/applmgmt directory, simply rename it .pid.old or whatever you like an retry the update process.
